Dr. Fahed is a physician-scientist and interventional cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and faculty member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He leads an NIH-funded lab focused on discovering new genetic causes of cardiometabolic disease, developing new genomic risk prediction tools, and implementing genomic risk prediction in clinic. He is an expert in polygenic risk score development and implementation and is principal investigator of the NHLBI-sponsored PROACT clinical trials, the first to test a polygenic risk score enrichment strategy for a drug trial. Dr. Fahed’s work bridges academic discovery and real-world implementation, translating advances in genomics, data science, and digital health into scalable solutions that improve population health. He is co-founder of Goodpath, a US market leader in employer sponsored virtual care, and Avigena, a company translating genomic science into population health solutions for the Arab world.
Dr. Ben-Omran’s clinic provides comprehensive genetic services including clinical evaluation and risk assessment; genetic counselling; diagnosis and the advanced management for a variety of genetic disorders in pediatric patients of all ages. The clinic also offers ongoing multidisciplinary care for patients with genetic conditions and helps them access resources and treatment programs personalized to their condition.
