In a collaboration between Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) and Qatar Precision Health Institute, an annual grant scheme under the name Pathway Towards Precision Medicine (PPM) was launched in 2015 to support local researchers working on genomics and precision medicine. The large number of high-quality proposals submitted each year is clear evidence of the success of this initiative. The PPM continues to be the flagship grant by which QPHI and QRDI support and direct genomic research in Qatar.
The PPM grants aim to capitalize on the wealth of genomic and phenotypic data produced by QPHI help understand disease phenotype/genotype correlations and translate research findings into clinical outcomes for better future healthcare in Qatar.
