Dr. Khalid Fakhro Board Member

Dr. Khalid Fakhro is the Chief of Research and Chair of the Precision Medicine Program at Sidra Medicine, Qatar’s largest tertiary care hospital for women and children. He leads the Laboratory of Human Genetics and Genomics, focusing on translating genomic technologies to patient care. His team has sequenced thousands of genomes, contributing to gene discovery in rare diseases and autism, and published significant studies on population structure and genome variation.  With over $8 million in competitive grants, Dr. Fakhro’s work is featured in high-impact journals. He is an Adjunct Professor at WCM-Q and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
