| Before joining QPHI, Dr. Emmanouil (Manolis) Dermitzakis served as the Vice President and Global Head of Computational Biology at GlaxoSmithKline, is a prominent figure in genetic research. With a background in evolutionary biology and population genetics, he specializes in the genetic basis of cellular phenotypes, complex traits, and precision medicine. Dermitzakis has authored over 160 papers in prestigious journals and received support from foundations like the Louis-Jeantet Foundation and Welcome Trust. Recognized with the 2017 Bodossaki science prize, he holds an H-index of 90 and actively contributes to global genetic initiatives, serving as Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Genetics and participating in key consortiums. Dr. Dermitzakis completed his PhD in Biology from Pennsylvania State University in 2001, his BSc in Biology from University of Crete in 1995. |
